Overall this is a decent floodlight camera if you don’t mind the price. If you're looking for a Google-focused smart home security camera that offers quality construction, attractive design and industry-leading smarts, the Nest Cam is the answer. If you're also willing to pay extra for features like familiar faces or Nest Aware's monitoring capabilities, you'll have a user experience that checks all the boxes and then some. The Nest Cam Indoor stays plugged in at all times, so we never had to worry about battery life. The cord definitely limits the placement and mounting options for this camera, and we didn’t love that it was white instead of black like the rest of the camera and mount. We would definitely prefer a wireless camera since it gives more flexibility in terms of where to put it, but we didn’t mind too much.

All in all, besides that, very good night quality faced out my windowsill at night, even with night vision off, it can actually see color at night on the street/driveway. The 2 year battery life is an exaggerated claim – the blink website outlines what you can expect to do if you want it to last 2 years – and it’s literally like 30 seconds of usage per day. It quickly and easily connected to my Google Home app and was immediately accessible via voice command through my Home hub. I liked how easy it was to control the brightness of the floodlights and the resolution of the camera. Amazing product when seeking a high-tech security device without paying hundreds of dollars. I have been more than an hour away as it works as expected. I enjoy the multiple options of how to be notified from motion, to sound and can see perfectly in the dark. Nest Aware Plus is a premium service that stores 60 days of history and 10 days 24/7 recording for the exceptionally paranoid. One thing I haven’t been able to figure out so far is how to snooze notifications if, for example, I know there’s going to be activity for some time. The camera is attached with a cable and locking screw, then secured with a strong magnetic bond making it somewhat difficult to position correctly.
